Join us online for the next DVA Forum and help shape the conversation about the future of Derbyshire’s VCFSE sector
The next DVA Forum takes place online on Thursday 22 October, from 10am to 12pm, bringing together people from across Derbyshire’s voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector to connect, share experiences and discuss some of the big questions facing our communities.
This will also be our first DVA Forum with Juliet Grace as Chief Executive of Derbyshire Voluntary Action, making it an opportunity to meet Juliet in her new role and hear more about the next chapter for DVA.
Most importantly, though, the Forum is about you and the sector.
We want to hear from volunteers, employees, trustees, community leaders and organisations of all sizes about what you are experiencing, what needs to change and where we can work together.
What does the future of volunteering look like?
Volunteers make an enormous contribution to communities across Derbyshire, but the way people want and are able to volunteer continues to change.
What will volunteering need to look like in the future? What makes it easier for people to get involved? What are the barriers? And what support do organisations need to recruit, involve and retain volunteers?
The Forum will give us an opportunity to explore these questions together and learn from the experiences of organisations across the sector.
How do we strengthen community voices?
Derbyshire’s VCFSE organisations have close relationships with the people and communities they support.
That means the sector holds an enormous amount of knowledge about what is happening locally, the challenges people are experiencing and the things that could make a difference.
We want to explore how we can better bring those voices together, amplify them and ensure the experiences of our communities are heard in the conversations and decisions that affect them.
How do we demonstrate the difference we make?
Every day, VCFSE organisations make a positive difference across Derbyshire.
But demonstrating that impact isn’t always straightforward.
Together, we’ll consider how we can better capture and communicate the difference our work makes, helping organisations tell their stories while strengthening the collective evidence for the contribution of Derbyshire’s VCFSE sector.
A Forum built around conversation
The DVA Forum is a space to participate, exchange ideas, hear different perspectives and make connections with others working and volunteering across Derbyshire.
The conversations will also help DVA understand the priorities, pressures and opportunities facing the sector, strengthening our ability to represent and advocate for Derbyshire’s VCFSE organisations.
Whether you’re a volunteer, employee, trustee or community leader, we want you to be part of that conversation.
