FutureMinds Collective Youth Forum: A Creative Space for Young Voices
FutureMinds Collective is creating another opportunity for children and young people across Derbyshire to come together, connect and express themselves through creativity.
Taking place on Thursday 30 April, 5:30pm – 7:00pm at The Hub @ Low Pavement, Chesterfield, this Youth Forum session offers a relaxed, welcoming space where young people can explore identity, creativity and self-expression.
What is this session about?
This session is centred around a simple but powerful question:
What does creativity mean to you?
Using creative activities, including mask making, young people will have the opportunity to explore how they express themselves, how they see the world, and what matters to them — all in a supportive and informal environment.
No previous experience or artistic skill is needed. The focus is on experimentation, connection and having fun.
A space shaped by young people
At the heart of FutureMinds Collective is a commitment to ensuring that children and young people have a genuine voice in shaping the spaces and conversations that affect them.
Young people are encouraged to bring their ideas, share their perspectives and help shape what these sessions look like going forward.
Why this matters
Creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people can express themselves is a vital part of supporting mental health and wellbeing.
Creative activities can:
- Provide new ways to explore thoughts and feelings
- Build confidence and self-expression
- Encourage connection with others
- Create opportunities for open and honest conversations
Through FutureMinds Collective, DVA continues to support approaches that centre lived experience and empower young people to be part of the conversation.
