support for communities

At Derbyshire Voluntary Action, we are proud to support the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector by administering a range of grant funding opportunities designed to strengthen communities, improve mental health and wellbeing, and support grassroots action across Derbyshire.

Successful Grants

The group was set up because there was at the time no support group in our region for people suffering persistent Chronic pain. The aim of setting up the support group was to give people suffering persistent chronic pain a place to meet & support others in similar/same situation, and break down the barriers of isolation in these groups. The feeling Connected project has been critical to the success of the group, without the support of the micro grants and the ongoing guidance/ support we would never have been able to start & to grow to the size of the group we are now with a core of 25 -30 members.
Pain Inspired Support Group
We approached a speaker as part of the Feeling Connected Family - our aim was to strengthen our presence at The Hub and improve on what we are able to offer as a group. Thank you for supporting us with this grant, it made a huge difference to the group and increased attendance by 50%
