Providing grant support for communities

The group was set up because there was at the time no support group anywhere in the Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Region for people suffering persistent Chronic pain. It was drastically needed to break down the barriers of isolation that so many pain sufferers experience when their work & social circles are dramatically diminished due to their suffering & limited mobility and in some cases, people confined to their home. The aim of setting up the support group was to give people suffering persistent chronic pain a place to meet & support others in similar/same situation. The feeling Connected project has been critical to the success of the group, without the support of the micro grants and the ongoing guidance/ support we would never have been able to start & to grow to the size of the group we are now with a core of 25 -30 members.
