Helping Communities Thrive: Health & Wellbeing Grants Open Today

Communities know their own strengths, understand local challenges and often have the best ideas for improving people’s health and wellbeing.

That’s why Derbyshire Voluntary Action (DVA) is delighted to announce that in conjunction with Derbyshire County Council our Health & Wellbeing Grants are now open, giving voluntary and community organisations the opportunity to bring local ideas to life and create lasting benefits for their communities.

These grants are available to not-for-profit voluntary and community organisations delivering activities in Chesterfield, Bolsover and North East Derbyshire, supporting projects that strengthen communities and improve health and wellbeing. Grants of up to £1,000 are available thanks to funding from Derbyshire County Council Public Health and the Chesterfield Health & Wellbeing Partnership.

Supporting Community-Led Change

We know that community organisations are often the first place people turn for support, friendship and advice. Whether it’s reducing loneliness, promoting physical activity, supporting children and families, encouraging healthy lifestyles or improving mental wellbeing, local groups make an incredible difference every day.

The Health & Wellbeing Grants are designed to support projects that:

  • Strengthen local communities and reduce loneliness
  • Improve physical and mental health
  • Support children, families and older people
  • Build skills, resilience and community connection
  • Encourage healthier lifestyles and wellbeing

Small Grants, Big Difference

Sometimes, a relatively small amount of funding can unlock a new project, help an existing activity grow or enable an organisation to reach more people.

We particularly encourage smaller grassroots organisations to apply. If you’ve never applied for funding before, don’t let that put you off. Our team is here to help guide you through the process.

Apply Today

Completed applications will be assessed by the Health and Wellbeing panel when the grant window closes, but we encourage organisations not to delay.

If you have an idea that could improve health and wellbeing in your community, we’d love to hear from you.
