A new fund for a greener Derbyshire
Could your idea make Derbyshire greener?
We know that groups on the ground have the best knowledge about what could help their local communities and we welcome this funding from the reuse profits at Bolsover Recycling Centre to support environmental improvements – underpinning our commitment to help make Derbyshire a great place to live, work and visit.
How much can you apply for?
£500 – £2,500
Organisations can apply for one Derbyshire Reuse Grant.
Funding can support a range of project costs, including activities and events; improvements to facilities that make them more sustainable and reduce running costs; refreshments; and materials, tools and plants.
Nature recovery & biodiversity
Projects that help nature recover and create richer habitats.
This could include habitat restoration, tree planting, community growing and creating or improving nature-rich spaces.
Climate emergency response
Practical projects that reduce waste, lower environmental impact or help communities become more sustainable.
This could include waste reduction, recycling and reuse initiatives, sustainable transport, energy-saving measures and retrofit projects.
Community access, enjoyment & benefit
Projects that help local people enjoy, care for and benefit from their environment.
This could include improving access to green spaces and creating new opportunities for environmental volunteering.

Who can apply
Applications are welcomed from voluntary, community and not-for-profit organisations and groups, and schools that are based in and working in Derbyshire.
Your proposed work must focus on improving the environment, sustainability and/or eco-friendly activity.
To be eligible, organisations and groups must be formally constituted. This means having:
a bank account in the organisation or group’s name;
a governing document or list of governing members;
a defined purpose and set of rules; and
appropriate insurance in place for the proposed activities.

Alongside meeting the eligibility criteria, we particularly want to support projects that demonstrate:

Applications will then be reviewed against the fund’s eligibility criteria and successful applicants will be contacted as soon as possible after a decision has been made. Funding will be paid in full in advance and must be used for the purpose for which it was awarded.

What happens if we're successful?
Successful organisations will be asked to provide some straightforward monitoring and evaluation so that we can understand the difference the funding has made.
